about

A quartet in four parts. For 3 guitars and 1 bass guitar.
Written and Recorded March - April 2019. Pittsburgh, PA.
DB103.

After the questionable Quintet of 2017 that featured a total of six parts, Accent Wall puts forth a piece of music strictly for four (4) players. Gone are the melodies of soft vocal accompaniment. Gone are the repetitiously mechanical drum patterns. All that remains are the fuzz, reverb, and jittery nerves of three guitars and one bass guitar. In four movements Quartet No. 1 moves from buzzsaw minimalism to tender waves and back again. Or perhaps you interpret it differently? Could such music be played on anything other than guitar?

Plans have been made to bring you both Quartet No. 1 and Quintet No. 1 on limited CDR, despite the seeming uncertainty of what Quintet No. 1 actually is. Meanwhile, please satisfy your streaming dreams and explore Accent Wall’s back catalogue of noise guitar music.
